At 170700ZAPR07 - PRT met with LN regarding the incident that occurred at 0120hrs on 16 Apr 07. According to LN, he had two of his compressors used for work on the Gonapal Valley Road destroyed by the Taliban in the village of Angar Watoo (best guess of location is around 42S XD 00405 63375.). The Taliban also destroyed some of the rocks he was using for construction of a retaining wall for the road. He stated that there were no injuries to any of his personnel as a result of this incident. He additionally added that his personnel had received death threats to stop work on the project. Prior to starting the work, LN had a shura (meeting) with the local elders about the construction and security of the road. The village elders gave him a letter stating that they would ensure that there would be protection in the area so that he could work on the road. LN brought the evidence and photos of the Taliban activities to the PRT. 0745Z - EOD departed compound with PRT personnel for ECP. 0750Z- Upon arriving at ECP contractor produced a linen satchel with components gathered from scene. All evidence was turned over to TM 14 EOD FOB Mehtar Lam. 0800Z- Team returned to shop to photograph and log evidence.
