SUBJECT: CCIR #1 Report of Stolen Import Sustainment Cargo along northern GLOC in Pakistan. TYPE OF INCIDENT: Theft of Sustainment Cargo along the Ground Line of Communication DATE / TIME OF INCIDENT: 161435ZJUN07 LOCATION: Peshawar Ring Road, Peshawar (Northwest Frontier Province), Pakistan. SUMMARY: American President Lines representative, Mr. Mumtaz Hussain, reports that a truck (vehicle number TLB-130) with two twenty foot containers was found abandoned along the Peshawar Ring Road and the containers contents were stolen. The vehicle was last reported at APLs Mian Wali check post on 13 June. It was expected to report to the Peshawar check point on the morning of 14 June, but failed to arrive. The Transporter (Bilal Associates) searched the route to include the Khyber Agency Area. The truck was later found on the Peshawar Ring Road on 15 June. The containers were on the trailer, but were found to be empty. The drivers are still missing and it is assumed at this time that this was a highway robbery. The transporter has reported the incident to local police. SDDC 831st Transportation Battalion will provide updates when more information is available. SDDC funded customs expeditor in the U.S. Consulate in Peshawar is aware of the issue and will continue working with the Transporter and APL in resolving this matter.
