Bazarak Road Issues: Imperative road construction work in Bazarak of the USAID-funded Panjshir road was stopped three times today due to disputes over width of the road and the thickness of Asphalt. The deputy governor, along with PRT members made the first trip to rectify the problem. Then one hour later when the road workers were again halted, Governor Buhlol went to the village to negotiate the disagreement, the ensuing agreement lasted two hours. Eventually, the governor sent police to guard the road and escort the machines through the village. Tajadin, the father-in-law of Massood and unofficial leader of Bazarak seems to be the primary trouble maker and ringleader. Tajadin has a good relationship with the PRT but had a major falling out with Governor Buhlol in July. ENTES, the company doing the work, brought several truck loads of hot asphalt from Charikar to Panjshir today it is critical this asphalt get placed today.
