3 CDRS TRY TO OBTAIN CONTROL IN RUSTAQ Organization(s) Involved: 19 NOV 2006, SEWOC (NS REL ISAF) Three militant Commanders strategize to obtain control from rival Commander, North-eastern Afghanistan Three militant leaders in North-eastern Afghanistan reportedly made preparations in mid-November 2006 to take over a rival Commander's area of control. The three Commanders supplied their personnel, who were in villages including SEH AB (42SWG7057509514), with a large number of Kalashnikovs and planned to attack Commander PIR MOQOL (NFI) in RUSTAQ District, TAKHAR Province, in an attempt to seize control of the area. The three Commanders were identified as: ABDULLAH GARD from GUGARI (42SWG7311011420), TAKHAR Province; MIRZA ABDUL RAHIM, also known as MIRZA MOHAMMAD (NFI), from SEH AB village, TAKHAR Province; ABDUL MAJID. The expected fighting and distribution of weapons stemmed from a long-standing quarrel between PIR MOQOL and the three Commanders, as well as from the Commanders' discontent with PIR MOQOL's control of the area. Commanders ABDULLAH GARD and ABDUL MAJID were believed to be in KUNDUZ Province, while Commander MIRZA ABDUL RAHIM was in POL-E KHOMRI City (42SVE7419678617), BAGHLAN Province.
